Sitting here this morning and soaking up Ella Fitzgerald. Her voice is as smooth as cream. There is some progress on the Counterpane Carpet Bag. I finished the first side and have cast on for it's mate.
Specs for the techies:
Yarn: My hand dyed (kettle dyed with acid dyes on the stove over off-white fisherman's wool)
Needles: Size 10 addis
Pattern: Counterpane Carpet Bag from Handknit Holidays
Changes: i only competed 4 pattern repeats and thinned out the decreases at the top for a shorter bag.
I snatched up some vintage boye needles in a plum color and lavender. I am thinking about getting a new (better) digital camera. Any suggestions? I was looking at the Canon Powershot. Dunno yet though.
Oh and I found a great site with vintage knitting/crochet patterns which I lost the site listing, dang. Lovely little numbers from the 30's and even the turn of the century. So beautiful. Viewing them reminds what is old is always new again. I really loved the swing coats and bed coats in the 20's and 30's patterns. Ahem can you say Flair. Yes I bought the pattern from Knit and Tonic.
But first this:
Terra yarn from The Fibre Company in the Chammomile colorway. It was a toss up between that and the Butternut color. This is destined to become le slouch. At least for now. The pic doesn't do the yarn justice. I also want to figure out the content of the yarn and try to spin some up as it is a thick and thin single. Too tasty.
